Mukul, an Auberge Resort: a Travel Blogger's Dream

Travel blogger Christina of The Bold Brunette had us swooning over her recent shots from her recent visit to Mukul, Auberge Resorts Collection. One look at her website and you can tell that the travel experience is important to her soul. We had to learn more.

Through my travels, I learned that there is nothing like the shift in perspective that comes from exploring an unfamiliar place and learning from a new culture. Nothing like the rush of emotion that comes from talking to a person radically different from yourself and becoming aware of those universal human truths that connect us all. Travel is the single most formative and rewarding experience a human being can have. It is the path to self-discovery and transformation, and the best way to learn about yourself and your place in this world.

How did you find out about Mukul?

Being a travel blogger, I am an avid follower of industry news, so I first read about Mukul last year in an edition of Condé Nast Traveler. When Flor de Caña told me we would be staying at Mukul for a few nights during my trip, I was overjoyed!

What is your favorite Mukul memory?

The first night I was at Mukul, the resort set up an incredible bonfire on the beach. I laid in the sand with my friends, looking up at the constellations and listening to the crackling fire. I'm from New York City, so it's not often I am able to see a single star, let alone shooting stars and the entire Milky Way. It was magical.

What did you learn by staying at Mukul?

Honestly? How incredible Nicaragua is. The beach, cliffs and jungles that Mukul is located in are all so beautiful and the people are hospitable & kind. Plus, the food is nothing short of delicious. Make sure you try the Churrasco Tacos at La Terraza! They are very likely the best tacos I've ever had in my life.
